Global Design Websites

Unity of design is key to creating a good website. Think about all of the big name websites that you’ve been to. When you went from one page to the other, there are lots of similar elements. Sometimes its just a logo on the page, and sometimes its a navigation header that is on the top of every single page on the entire site.

So, how can you implement a global design strategy on your website? First of all, design your site with the best web design program out there. Once you’ve gotten to that point, the rest will take care of itself. That is because you can set global preferences and create templates.

As an example, let’s say that you are running a website that has some written content, like articles and tutorials, and also has an online store that sells items mentioned in those articles.

First, you’ll create some templates. You can use the same one for every single item page and article page on the site or use a different templates for articles and sales items. Once the template is created (and don’t worry about that, because you get a lot of high quality templates included with the program) you can start filling in your content.

If something should come up later on down the road and you want to make some changes, then all you have to do is make changes in one place, not on each individual page. That’s a real time saver.

Okay, so we’ve got our design philosophy worked out and those design choices have been applied at a global level so if changes need to be made they can be made easily. Now we have to fill all of those pages with content.

Well, there’s an answer for that too. What you need to use is a device called an Import Tool. Essentially, this tool will allow you to take content that you already have (if you’re starting up an online store, you should already have a lot of item stats worked out) and quickly import that information onto individual web pages.

Now, depending on the format you have your preliminary information in, there may be some tweaking necessary, but at the very least you will be saving yourself a lot of time, and that’s what its all about.

You want to generate the most amount of content possible in the least amount of time, and to do that you need powerful tools.
